NEW YORK STATE EMS PEDIATRIC EMERGENCY CARE COORDINATOR
Over the past three years, Southern Tier Health Care System has been contracted to establish, build and provide ongoing support to the NYS EMS Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinator (PECC) Program in NYS.

These activities included but were not limited to: building a State team that then designed the resource for education on pediatric medications, equipment, and supplies; promoting and sharing pediatric continuing-education opportunities; encouraging pediatric simulations/hands-on pediatric skills assessments; and encouraging fellow providers to follow pediatric clinical-practice guidelines

Presently, there are over 200 agencies with a designated PECC in NYS. As of March 31, 2022, our contract to support the PECC has ended, and we have transitioned these duties to Amy Eisenhauer, EMS for Children Program Coordinator. Again, we want to thank The Bureau of EMS for allowing us to work with the agencies and providers in New York state to build a system that provided the foundation for better pediatric care in the pre-hospital setting. If you have questions or concerns with PECC programming in the future, please reach out to EMS.PECC@health.ny.gov.

Thank you to all who have supported us over the years…  Donna, Alicia and Abbe
